Green and Clean Disposable Placemats

March 19th, 2008

Green and Clean Disposable PlacematsWhat will they think of next?? Madeleine has been pretty slow to start solids, but this week she seems a little bit more interested so of course I have feeding accessories on the brain…again! I came across these green disposable placemats which I think are a great idea. They are waterproof coloring mats (comes with non-toxic crayons) which stick to the table. They’re more earth-friendly than plastic placemats because they are 80% chalk. Keep your little one entertained, keep germs from a restaurant table of his/her little hands and be a little more earth friendly all at the same time!

Visit BabyCenter Store to check them out!

The OTHER Seinfeld

February 3rd, 2008

Jessica Seinfeld

I NEVER get to watch Oprah so I set my DVR and occasionally scroll through my recordings and pick out a show or 2 to watch when my husband isn’t home. Gotta love a little girl time with Oprah. Anyway… I almost deleted the show that Jessica Seinfeld was on, but luckily I remembered that my friend told me that I HAD to watch it. I thought Jessica was great on the show. She brought some sample foods for Oprah to try and she seemed to really enjoy them. How smart…just SNEAK the veggies into your families food instead of arguing with them about it. Brilliant.

Jessica has some awesome ideas in this book. The whole idea is to steam vegetables, puree them and them slip them into your meals without the kids realizing. She’s got some good ones like putting spinach in brownies and butternut squash into mac and cheese. I’m really impressed…not to mention the fact that the book itself is adorable!

Dirty Dozen

February 2nd, 2008

This is super important information!! The Environmental Working group has put out a list of the best (best=least amount of pesticides) and worst (worst=the highest levels of pesticides) fruits and vegetables. They have named this list the “Dirty Dozen”. If you are only able to buy certain organic foods for your family, this is good information to have because it will allow you to avoid the worst offenders!

If you click here you can see the list and print out a copy for your wallet.
